Admission Procedures To Study In Ukraine

Admission Procedures To Study In Ukraine

Admission procedures to studying in Ukraine starts with a brainstorming process. This process will start

with yourself, and later include your parents, sponsors and other major stake holders. You want to be sure

that you want to study abroad. At this stage, three major factors must be thoroughly considered.

• Finance / sponsorship
• Satisfy necessary requirements
• Available traveling documents

Financing / Sponsorship

Although studying in Ukraine is much more affordable than other Western European countries, you need to be sure of
external financing all through your study program. Do not rely on supporting yourself with job prospects for students.
They are not readily available in Ukraine, at least not for now. Apart from your tuition and hostel fees, living expenditure
in Ukraine is sparingly not exorbitant. While it is difficult to be precise on figures, however an average of $200 will be enough for a non extravagant student for the month. Note also that this is not definite, as it varies from one individual to another. For a conservative student, there might even be some left over.

Satisfy Necessary Requirements

Confirm with your agent, or the university to ascertain the entry requirements for the course you intend to pursue. This
is very necessary, as it determines whether you are qualified to receive admission for the sought after course. See also
the section on general requirements to study in Ukraine

Available Traveling Documents

Confirm whether you will need a visa or not to enter the territory of Ukraine. Check to see that you have a valid
international passports, with at least two years validity. You do not want to just arrive, and the first assignment is
running around to renew a soon expiring passport. If you do not currently have a valid international passport, check
to confirm that you have enough time to process it without affecting your travel plans.
So, be sure to be guided by these three factors in making your decision.

Next, you will have to go and search for the university offering the course you intend to study. Find out their
requirements and establish a correspondence with them. This step is necessary, if you are handling your admission
process by your self. Yes, you can do it by yourself. But there are many advantages of using a reliable and
professional agent. We are less likely to make the mistakes you are prone to. One error is enough to ruin a process.

However, if you recruit the services of an educational agent, like our companyn SEHEMBZ EDUCATION CONSULTS, we will
handle this process and the rest for you.

IMPORTANT

This section is very vital and critical. Most people take a blind leap, and when something goes wrong, they blame it
on internet scam.
If you decide to recruit the services of an agent, make sure you do not choose a faceless agency. Check to make sure
they have contact addresses, names and request for their certificate of registrations and permits before thinking of any financial commitment.
Be very careful about contacts from social network, unless you know the contact personally, or was referred by a
trusted person.
You are not only safeguarding your hard earned resources, but saving yourself from unnecessary waste of your time,
energy and the emotional pains. Best of all, make sure you are discussing with a company, not just an individual you
met in a forum.
If you have a friend, or relative who is already studying in the university of your choice, then it is also a good option.
Just make sure that he / she will have the time to follow through the entire process.

ADMISSION STAGE

Next, you will have to submit a filled application form to the university, meet their in-house requirements. This may
vary slightly from one university to the other depending on the course, study language and other factors.

The university will assess your documents, and if acceptable, will issue an admission proposal and the fees structure
letter to the student. On acceptance, you may be required to confirm your interest by paying your tuition fees.

Thereafter, the university sends out an official admission / invitation letter to the student. This confirms that the student
have been granted admission in the university, for the course indicated in the admission letter. It is supported with a confirmation letter, sent to the Ukrainian consulate in your country.

VISA APPLICATION STAGE

Armed with the admission / invitation letter, the student now applies for a student visa in the Ukrainian consulate of the home country. Make sure that you find out the embassy's visa requirements, and comply 100%. Do not leave nothing
for chance. The section on requirements to study in Ukraine lists some of the general embassy requirements. Please do
not stop there. Visit the Ukrainian embassy in your country, or their web site to find out their updated requirements.
The issued student visa usually do not have long period of validity, so be careful to use it while it remains valid.

TRAVEL STAGE AND PREPARATIONS

Once your visa has been successfully processed, it is time to prepare for your trip. Settle on the best date to travel.
Bear in mind that academic activities resumes from 1st of September. For students that will start studies from the
language program, the deadline is the 15th of October. Arriving a week or two earlier, gives the student an ample
room to complete registrations, fully settle and ready for studies, so put that in mind while choosing a date.

Once the date is decided, immediately go to a travel agent or ticket office and reserve your ticket for the selected date.
The earlier you do this, the better. Make sure your ticket is a one year open return ticket. This is very vital.

Clothing And Weather Conditions

Now, it is time to put personal things together. One of the most vital things to consider here is clothing. Ukraine has a
four season climate. If you are already conversant with similar weather conditions, then you know how to select your clothing. If not, then read carefully.

Summer temperatures are as high as 35°C, and winter are as low as -20°C. These are not the limits. You are more
likely to arrive Ukraine towards the end of summer and beginning of autumn. So, be better equipped with warm
clothing for weather conditions ranging from +20°C to +5°C. However, Check weather forecasts before your trip.
If you have good winter clothing, take them along with you. If not, do not bother. You will be able to purchase good
and quality winter clothing in Ukraine at an affordable rate. Best of all they are made, with the local weather conditions
in focus.

Arrival Reception

Inform your agent, or the university of your travel date, the arrival time, flight information and the port of entry. You
will have to be received at the airport by either your agent or the representative of the university, or both. Therefore,
be sure to relay this information, at least one week before your departure. You may be turned back if no one is there
to receive you on arrival. That is the essence of the one year open return ticket. So Play By The Rules.

Do not take any harmful and dangerous materials with you. Fill the immigration card given to you at the airport on
arrival, and keep it safe with you. Have your travel insurance handy with you, and you are good to go.

UNIVERSITY REGISTRATION STAGE

Welcome to Ukraine. At this stage, you will have to go through the university registration process. You will need all the originals of all the documents you used for processing your admission. Next is an in-house medical examination. You
will be issued a one year student residential permit, the necessary university and hostel identity cards, academic
materials and you are ready for the resumption your first educational experiences studying in Ukraine.
